Mesothelioma is extremely horrible and I know this first hand. My uncle has been suffering from this disease for the past few years and it has devastated our family. My uncle used to be a cheerful and vibrant man, but know he seems worn down and sick all of the time. He has progressively gotten worse and he has received a great deal of treatments to help slow down the progress of his disease.

My uncle worked for a contractor thirty years ago and this contractor hired people to remove materials from old buildings. All of the workers were happy to have a job and none of them were required to wear safety equipment. This was before asbestos was known to cause cancer and other diseases, and all twenty of the workers were exposed to asbestos on a daily basis. Most of the employees worked with my uncle until the contractor's business closed and they all moved on to other jobs and careers.

My uncle rarely thought of his old job, until he started to feel ill later in life. At first he felt short of breath and his chest felt heavy. He thought that these symptoms were due to an unhealthy lifestyle, but my uncle's doctor thought that their may be more to the story. The doctor asked my uncle some questions and he informed the doctor that he worked around asbestos years in the past. The doctor asked my uncle to have some tests performed at the local hospital and the tests quickly confirmed the doctor's fear. My uncle had mesothelioma.

The rare cancer was explained to my uncle and he started on treatments right away. My uncle had to have two different surgeries to remove tumors and chemotherapy started soon afterwards. My uncle has been feeling sick ever since his first diagnosis, but he has been holding up well.  We have decided it might be a good idea to look into mesothelioma lawyers.
